Accessorizing in the summer with hand-made cardigans can be a bit difficult, especially if what you have is largely made with the heavier weight yarns. Don’t get me wrong, I love my heavier cardigans, especially when it is cold outside! I just don’t like them when it’s 90 degrees outside!

That’s why I’ve put together a list of what I believe to be the top 10 Must Make Crochet Summer Cardigans! I made sure that these are made with either fingering or sport weight yarn to ensure that they are comfortable to wear in these hotter months. Otherwise, everything else was free game! These are in no particular order, and this is all based on my opinion, so this list is anything but comprehensive.

Now, let’s get to my 10 Must Make Crochet Summer Cardigans!

1. Rosal by Filipa Carneiro

This first cardigan is one that I absolutely love and have on my to-make list! It is a short cardigan and also has short sleeves, so it is perfect for summer outfits! The design is so beautiful, with floral designs created from the stitches.

2. Lorraine Cardi by Ashlea Konecny

This cardi is a more solid design, but the instructions for it are customizable, meaning you can adjust the length of it, the border design, and how the front closes!

3. Davallia by Isa Catepillan

Another lacey design, but this one includes frills! I love how much this one reminds me of latte art!

4. Granny Stripe Cardigan by Hannah Siegmund

I had to include at least one granny stripe pattern! This one is, as Hannah describes, basically a wearable blanket! She has also made it very size inclusive, with tons of instructions and photos!

5. Seaglass Summer Cardi by Tamara Kelly

This is a super long cardi, and I cannot look away from it! I love the way the thin yarn and larger hook created this nearly transluscent effect on the finished piece!

6. Lanai Lounger Cardi by Haley Herman

This is a beautiful, simple, and size inclusive cardigan, which I absolutely have to get on my hook ASAP! One of my favorite parts of this is that other than being customizable, it is worked in one piece!

7. Daphne Cocoon Cardigan by Sincerely Pam

This pattern is one that is on my to-make list, and I even have the yarn for it! It is so fun looking, with the filet stitches and the picot detailing!

This is a super cute short cardi with solid stitching! I love how simple this one is, and it is pretty size inclusive too!

This one is absolutely gorgeous! I love the fact that this one has that point at the bottom of the back, it gives it so much character!
