It’s mid October, which means that those of us who purchased advent calendars should be getting them in the mail soon! I’ve gotten at least one these last 2 years and have a couple more this year, and I’m so excited about getting them! One of my favorite parts of the advent season is seeing all the yarn and trying to decide what to make with them. In the past years, I’ve ended up designing patterns with the yarn I get, and those patterns are some of my favorite! Specifically, those patterns are the Snowfall and Lights Advent Wrap and the Holiday Candy Shawl. Now these patterns are made with DK weight minis, as that is the weight of yarn I prefer to work with. However, I am aware that most people who order advent calendars or minis in general get them in fingering weight, so I decided to convert my Holiday Candy Shawl pattern into a fingering weight version, and I am so excited to share it with you!

This pattern is for a shawl made with 24 20g fingering weight minis and 1 100g fingering weight skein. The pattern uses simple stitches, double crochet and half double crochet, alternating sections of post and non-post stitches, creating a wonderful texture both visually and physically. It is perfect for using a stash of mini skeins or just a bunch of leftover fingering weight yarn!
