Winding Trellis Plant Pot Cover

Spring has arrived, and that means I have started my small garden! Along with my crochet obsession, I also have a bit of a plant obsession. Mine is more along the lines of trying to reclaim my farming heritage (Southern born and raised!), but I would also have houseplants if space and my wallet allowed! Even though I do focus on vegetables, I have a few that are able live inside, like some of my herbs. I like to spruce up the plant pots, so last year I designed the Winding Trellis Plant Pot Cover! And now that Spring is here, I figured I should probably publish it here on my blog.

This pattern is best done in cotton yarn or a cotton blend, since that holds up best with water absorption. For mine, I used the Hobbii Rainbow Cotton, which comes in so many lovely colors! This pattern can also be made with any weight yarn! Just remember, the thinner the yarn, the smaller the cover and the thicker the yarn, the bigger the cover.

You can also find this pattern available for purchase on Ravelry and Ribblr.

Now, onto the pattern!

Notes:

  • This pattern is worked in a continuous circle, except for the chain 2 at the beginning of the double crochet rounds.

  • The stitch marker is important for keeping track of the number of stitches in the double crochet rounds. Place it in the last stitch of every round to ensure you have the right number of stitches.

  • When working the single crochets, only place one in every chain 2 space.

  • You can change the height of the plant cozy by adding or removing any of the rows of double crochet stitches.
